Hi! My name is Nathan Oskam. I like to consider myself as something of a photographer and maybe something less of a writer, but I do love to share stories of my adventures and the things I learn. Growing up in Central California, I had the awesome opportunity to live near three great national parks: Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia. Some of my greatest childhood memories are of wandering the woods in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I love going on hikes and camping as I take in nature and marvel at God’s creation.
While in college I studied abroad in Israel touring the biblical sights and exploring the country of Israel. During that time I fell in love with travelling and learning about the Bible through the tangible objects and places we traveled. As I have continued to study, I have grown to appreciate the history of the Church and the people throughout history who have influenced the world from the foundation of their Christian religion. Although I love to take great pictures of beautiful or significant sites, I also enjoy seeing the real world surrounding those places. Whether that is the maybe less appealing side of the coin to that famous spot you’ve seen pictures of, or the charming, weird, or curious aspects of the places I visit. I hope that this blog is a resource for you to learn something about the creation of the world or church history and that it inspires you to travel to some of these places yourself!
